#26 Are You Overcomplicating Things Because That's How We Always Do It

#26 Are You Overcomplicating Things Because That's How We Always Do It When I was growing up, my dad would always quit early on Halloween. We loved it! From his perspective, they had to haul through town and there were too many kids and vehicles to risk driving a hard-to-stop vehicle through such a populated area.   This got me thinking, sometimes it’s okay to quit early. Janelle Burns from episode # 22 talked about how they quit for 4pm on Sunday’s. It helps rest, spend time with family, recoup and makes harvest overall easier and more enjoyable. So, what things on your farm are you (or someone else) making more difficult than it needs to be? Maybe you. . . Wait until the last minute to get feed, parts etc Are disorganized and spend too much time searching for things Do things “how we always did it” even though it’s not efficient Push it when it’s too early, too wet, or you are too tired Spend a lot of time bickering and arguing Overall take a look at what things you do, what things don’t really make sense, or you make more difficult or overcomplicated than it needs to be. . We need you!!!
