#25 Farm Families Fight-5 Tips to Help you Get Along and Work Together Easier
Farm families fight, that is a fact of life. Anyone who is business with other people knows that there are lots of decisions to be made, problems to solve and things that need attention. This is where the weeds get thick and making these decisions can lead to arguments. We all know of brothers who don’t speak to each other or other families that have been ripped apart by a family feud.
This episode talks about some ways that we can all be better about family communication & collaboration ultimately leading to happy and healthy farms for everyone involved.
Two things I want to preface this with 1. Trauma, abuse, neglect, addiction and mental health complications are often apart of farm families, these things should be delt with, with a certified therapist or counselor. 2. You cannot change other people; you can only change how you respond to situations at hand.
The BIG FIVE FACTORS that will change everything about family, communication, collaboration and how smoothly your farm runs are:
Trauma
Abuse
Neglect
Addiction
Mental health
As a reminder, everyone struggles with mental health and extreme stress at some point, seeing a therapist or counselor is extremely helpful. Visit www.betterhelp.com or www.psychologytoday.com to find a counselor who will work with you to overcome the things are you dealing with.
