#12 Goats, Autism, and Finding Balance in Farming, Family and Boundaries with Karen Goodchild

#12 Goats, Autism, and Finding Balance in Farming, Family and Boundaries with Karen Goodchild Karen Goodchild is a special needs mom, goat lover and fellow farmer. She got a couple of goats because her son could only drink goat’s milk. Her son was able to overcome a sensory issue and he actually took his mittens off and touched the goats!! Since then, he has been able to raise and show goats which has given him a sense of community, self-confidence, and a type of therapy in a sense. Karen contacted me to answer questions in a Q&A style article for the American Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goat Association’s Newsletter. I answered all of her questions and sent her back eight pages of information, stories, and explanation of stress, balance, and boundaries. Then, I got thinking this would be an excellent episode and hearing Karen’s story is both inspiring and motivational. Topics Covered: How showing goats can help kids to come out of their shell, build confidence and overcome obstacles How to ask for help Who can we ask for help How to find balance in chaos How to organize your list to clarify your priorities How to start working when anxiety is keeping you stuck   Connect with Sarah Zastrow Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/2295514594092240 Instagram https://www.instagram.com/throwingwrenchesmendingfences/ Website https://www.micultivatebalance.com/ Pinterest Page: https://www.pinterest.com/micultivatebalance/ YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMVcExxS1xgVghkfXQ7e Tiktok: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMevsHpyW/   Connect with Karen Goodchild   Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/okdoek Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/okdoek   Website American Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goat Association https://www.andda.org/
